Dr. Ming Li is an associate professor of recreation and sport management at Georgia Southern University. He coordinates the sport management program and teaches courses on sport management, the economics of sport, financial management of sport, facility and event management, international sport management, management of sport organizations, and research methods and statistical applications in recreation and sport management. His major interests are in financial and economic aspects of sport and comparative sport management. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Guangzhou Institute of Physical Culture (PRC), his master's degree in education from Hangzhou University (PRC), and his Doctor of Education in sport administration from the University of Kansas. He used to be a member-at-large on the Executive Board of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), chair the Sport Management Council of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), and act as director of the Sport Management and Administration Commission of the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport and Dance (ICHPERoSD). Dr. Li is currently serving on the Sport Management Program Review Council (SMPRC). He also has memberships on the editorial boards of three professional journals: Journal of Sport Management, International Sports Journal, and International Journal of Sport Management. In 1996, he worked for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) as an Olympic Envoy. Dr. Li has published more than 20 articles in refereed journals in various professional journals, such as Sport Marketing Quarterly, International Sports Journal, and Journal of Sport Management, and made a number of presentations at state, national, and international conferences.
