Details/Requirements: University of Florida, Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management College of Health and Human Performance Assistant or Associate Professor (9-month tenure accruing position) Position # 00006401(Specialization: Recreation Management)Responsibilities: Professionally prepare and mentor Ph.D., Master's, and undergraduate students; supervise student internships; engage in University and professional service activities; and maintain an active research agenda with a focused research line that results in continued scholarly achievement including publications in peer-reviewed journals, professional presentations, and external grant funding. The successful candidate will be a generalist who has a strong background in recreation management, in addition to any other area that fits the department's needs and mission. Duties include teaching courses in recreation management, as well as the undergraduate and graduate core. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in recreation, parks and tourism or closely related field of study; established or emerging scholar in recreation management committed to research and excellence in higher education teaching, research, and service. Candidates must have completed the Doctoral Degree by August 2006. Current Assistant/Associate professors with relevant academic experience beyond the doctoral degree are preferred.
